If your company comes across concrete/asbestos pipe or other material containing asbestos pipe or other material containing asbestos, you must include safety procedures for handling asbestos in your program.
- Write a brief introduction
- Allow only employees that are certified in asbestos removal to remove and dispose of asbestos
- List your safety & health procedures to your employees when working with this material
- Develop procedures for medical surveillance – a pre-medical examination may be required
- Air monitoring for exposure to asbestos is required anytime your employees are working around or with this hazardous material.
- Other safety concerns may have to be considered
