Respirator Protection Program

If your employees are required to wear any type of respirator including paper types, you must include safe work procedures in your written program.
  • Identify when, where and how they must be used
  • Depending on the type of work being performed, personal comfort and ease of fit, various respirators will be selected – this is a great place to use the knowledge of your safety supplier.
  • The company must identify how:
    • Respirator fit test will be completed
    • Employee will be trained in the proper use of respirator – a record of this must be kept
    • Respirators will be maintained
  • When use of a respirator is required, medical evaluations are needed
