Every project site is required to have a site specific safety plan that is unique to that site. Always include a brief sentence or two regarding your overall safety & health objectives. Once developed, this plan can easily be altered to fit various job sites.
This plan should address the following:
- Site name; location; person(s) in charge of the project; person in charge of safety; line of communications
- When and where the weekly safety meetings will be held
- Where the personal protective safety equipment is located and what is required to be utilized at this site
- Equipment safety – identify safe operable equipment conditions, i.e.; horn, wipers, turn signals, back up alarms, seat belts, etc.
- First Aid and Accidents – where first aid equipment is located, who is first aid trained, how to report accidents
- Site Plan
- Where fire extinguishers are located
- Traffic Control
- Designated meeting area for accountability in the event of a fire, explosion, earthquake or other catastrophic event
- Policies or procedures regarding anticipated
- On-Site Safety Monitoring
- Excavations
- Confined Space Entry
- Demolition
- Oil Spill Prevention & Controls
- Environmental Controls
- Fall Protection Requirements
