Confined Space Entry Program

A confined space is defined as any space that has a limited means of entry and exit, and/or is not meant for human habitation, or has a known or potential hazard. This includes manholes, and some excavations. If your employees are exposed to confined spaces, you must identify your safe work procedures in your program.

Every employee working in and around a confined space must be trained. They must be trained in the use of:
  • Safe Confined Space Entry Procedures
  • Safety Equipment – Air monitors, blowers, tripod with winch, safety harness, etc.
  • Entry Permit – When and why it is needed
*Confined space regulations are found in WAC 62.145-14529 Part M
*Sample program available here.
