Every business doing ETS must identify in their safety program, the safe work procedures employees must follow. All areas of work being undertaken must be identified as to the type of protective system(s), adequate sloping or shoring that will be used. Means of access-egress and placement of spoils pile(s) must also be identified.
In addition, a competent person must be present at the jobsite at all times. (A competent person is one who has been appointed by the company, has full knowledge and understanding of the safety standards concerning the specific work, and has the authority to stop the project and make necessary changes.)
